Guest drembo
I just became the owner of a pair of AR2s. My father bought them new when I was 2, they are part of my earliest childhood memories. They have been in storage(indoors, no attic or basement) for the last 29 years. I opened them up to replace the caps in the crossover, but I am a little confused. There is a stack of 2 capacitors, glued together. Each one is a double capacitor. The top one reads 2x2uf, 200v, but I can't see what the bottom one is. Can someone tell me what the values are supposed to be in the circuit? Anybody have a schematic? All the speakers are in nice shape, all four mid/tweeters work. The potentiometers turn smoothly. I will need to re-coat the surrounds of the woofers. Speaker cloth needs replacing also.
Carlspeak
Click on the link below. It will take you to the AR schematics area in the library.http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/library..._schematic.htmlAll you need to buy are two 4 uF and two 6 uF caps to replace what you have in your two speakers. Guest drembo
But I have a pair of AR-2s, not AR-2axs. I can use the AR-2ax schematic by just eliminating the tweeter circuit, but what value capacitor do I want?
