Guest Posted April 8, 2002 Report Share Posted April 8, 2002 Before I had the Pioneer, I had a Marantz 2245 pushing a cheap set of 4 ohm speakers just for FM tuning. I tried connecting the Pioneer to the cheap 4 ohm speakers and the circuit protector would click on . I dug out an old pair of AR3s from the basement and tried them with the Pioneer and no problem. I know that the ARs like power but I was wondering if the Pioneer was too powerful for the small 4 ohm speakers? I didn't have the volume turned up at all, just using the tuner.
