Hi there;

Yes, those are one of the two designs Dynaco used in their classic speaker systems.

The round perimeter cast aluminum frame or those with the horns at the screw holes.

Same with at least 2 different tweeters, if not more.

I'll take a photo of a selection I have of different woofer frames and with the different magnet systems, when I am up to it.

Thus far, we know there was Scan first, then Seas later, much more common.

We really need an engineer from Seas, Scan or Dynaco to tell us the how, when, where and why, of the Scan, then conversion from Scan to Seas drivers.

There is still a story here to un-fold, but, as time passes, we lose more human memories.

My memory is disappearing even as I write here.

Whom do I owe the $500.00 to? LOL LOL

I just took a second or third look at that auction today.

I was wrong in my first comment, sorry.

The tweeter is NOT definitely a 100% Seas brand, or at least the current model they used, but the woofer, may be a much later version of a Seas woofer.

**** I just also noticed that the tweeter only has 4 holes, unlike Scan with three equadistant and Seas with 8 holes.

**** This is also an unusual tweeter with only 4 holes. MMMMMMM

**** Perhaps it is a different tweeter version as well.

I do not know how I missed the appearance so badly.

The dust dome is definitely not from a classic A-35 woofer.

Looking at the driver real close, the dust dome is really much larger than Dynaco's original one, the leads are covered over even.

It is possible that this is a newer replacement Seas woofers.

The 3rd photo is another Dynaco woofer from another auction.

Looking at the 1st photo, it is possible that a larger dust dome was attached on the cone, after it left the factory, but doubtful, looks to be too good of a job.

Photo 3 is defintely a Seas woofer, hint, brand names molded on the rubber surround.

To confirm the identity of the cabinet, photo 4 is the connection terminal plate.

The serial number is 27-xxxxxx which was Dynaco's identification for A-35 speakers.

The balance -528xxx tells us the it was made in 1975 and the 28th week.

Hi again;

The larger than normal dust cap, maybe from a service person, after re-voice coiling the woofers, as both had the same oversized dust cap.

I would guess at least twice the diameter of the stock dust cap.

There was an association between Dynaco and Seas, more new's to come up in the future about this, I hope.

On the surface it appears that Dynaco contracted with Seas for the entire production of all of the Dynaco classic series of speakers, at least, those Made in Denmark versions.

They were no copycat speakers from other sources using the same drivers.

The developer/inventor of the prototype, Dynaco A-25 speaker, worked for Seas.

Scan drivers were the first drivers used in Dynaco A-25 speaker systems.

There had to be a relationship between Scan and Seas.

Dynaco had a relationship with B&O, at least prior to the A-25.

Seas had a relationship with B&O, B&O used some Seas drivers.
