Hi Dave;

I personnaly didn't own the KLH Seventeens, anyone that I have met that did and does, enjoys them.

A very affordable and clean sounding speaker, which is still popular today on ebay.

I am sure a big part of it's endurance was the type of owner and no foam rot.

Still sought after as a classic speaker, with not much for an equal today, considering it's original selling price.

Nice to see someone still enjoying a classic.

Hi Dave;

By the way Dave, the speaker still looks as new, like it did when it was new.

Dave,

Your Model 17 is really a peach. I find it wonderful to preserve and enjoy these speakers. I also find that they're superior to almost everything else out there that passes for hi-fidelity these days.

Didn't KLH have a partnership with Scott to combine their speakers with Scott components in an integrated system? I seem to remember my neighbor having a Scott system with KLH Model 17s as part of the ensemble. This was circa 1971 or so. Lovely little system it was.

Thanks for the nice responses guys. Those seventeens will be with me until they(or I) die. I've always been a fan of KLH stuff and vintage equipment in general. My first 'record player' was a KLH Model 11 suitcase job that my parents got me when I was a kid. Boy I wish I still had that! A friend just gave me a pair of Model Sixes today that he was going to throw away! How lucky am I? A little scuffed up but sounding great. I'll have to upload a couple of pix when I get them cleaned up.
