dynaco_dan Posted November 11, 2004 Report Share Posted November 11, 2004 Hi there.There is usually always AR 10" woofers with both the old cast frame and the newer stamped steel frame for sale on eBay.For originality I prefer the no-rot cast frame version.Repair kits are available for the rotten surrounds.Maybe someone viewing has tried rubber replacement surrounds?This would be a possible alternate permanent repair instead of every 10 years +/--. I can't say for certain if there is a difference between them sonicly.The newer stamped steel version may handle more power but I can't say that for certain.If someone viewing has had or knows of someone who has tried swapping out the woofers and can comment please jump in with your commentary.I am assuming that each has a firm spider and the voice coil is not fried or rubbing.Thank you.Have a good one.The older cast frame versions >I'm need an AR2AX woofer, the 11" model.
