Guest ed Posted October 16, 2006 Report Share Posted October 16, 2006 I purchased a pair of Altec Lansing Model 3 at a thrift store. They seem to be in good shape. Nice wood cabinets. The foam is rotting and brittle on one. Will these be a decent pair of speakers after cleaning and refoaming? I have only refoamed two pair of speakers, both Advent, are these a fairly simple refoam job? Can someone please tell me what foam these require and where is an inexpensive website to get it? I am not sure and did not see a specific listing, I think they are 10" woofers. Can anyone tell me their value? There is a knob on the back that when turned seems to cause static and the tweeter cuts on ond off. Can this be corrected by cleaning or will it require more than that?
