Just like to say hello to the members of the Advent forum. I don't know if the speakers I own are covered or meet the criteria for this forum.

I own a pair of Advent Baby III bookshelf speakers. They are a perfect fit my application and one of them has a damaged woofer. I need assistance locating a suitable replacement woofer as close to OEM as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Rich

Hmmm...Baby III's...well...in my sole judgement, you're among the ranks. But you'd be in better stead if you had at least one pair of big old Advents on which you are planning to make major repairs with your own hands in a damp basement—dimly lit, of course, and in an old house with a funky yard that's always out-of-control.

You'll probably find replacement parts on eBay, but Layne Audio also has them (http://www.speakersupply.com/Advent.htm), though Layne has sometimes been very hard to reach. Try phoning them. Emails never get through. And a google search will turn up all kinds of things.

Have fun.

Hi Rich;

Welcome to this website.

As Russ said, you qualify to write here.

I would have said maybe, "Double Advents," as well. lol

Actually your key was, Advent,".

The basement and yard sounded like he's been to my home. lol

Russ, is one of the many very helpful writer's here that will offer you help.

I am not familiar with your particular model number.

A very common problem with almost all brands is, foam rot.

If one woofer is coughing or wheezing, lol, it may be suffering from foam rot.

If this is the case, foam replacemment kits are available.

Good luck.
