Hi all ok i own a pair of large advents the ones in utility cabnets a pair of smaller advents. A pair of utah as 2a speakers i drive the utahs and large advents with a pioneer sx 650. I currently am not using the smaller advents blown tweeter. My dads friend gave me the large advents he was just going to burn them in the fire pit. They needed work but i fixed them got them working just as good as new they had foam rot and cabnets were crappy. I saved the utahs from the garbage to they are in mint condition with the exeption that one of the woofers was not original. I also own a fisher rs 2002 with original owners manual also in mint condition. A vintage harman kardon 330 nocturne reciever with owners manual not original. I got the smaller advents for free from my uncle. I also own a pair of polk audio 7b speakers mint condition too my dad is giving me his system it consists of two jbl l112s 2 nad amps about 75 watts per channel and a say 2 tuner. But keep in mind that i am only sixteen thats just some of my equepment i wont tell you about all of them.

Hi there;

You are 16 and have this collection already. WOW.

Not to be outdone, see the AR library and look at Tom Tyson's small rec room systems.

I think he had ONLY about 10 or so pairs of AR speakers.

As we get older we accumulate more toys.

Hi there;

The AR-5's would have been worth the $5.00 at least.

If they are still available, go for it.

As long as the enclosures are solid, you can, as a last ditch effort, paint the enclosures.

If the cabinets are walnut veneer and only minor imperfections they have worth.

The crossovers are probably still complete.

The pots may need cleaning.

The older replacement drivers are available on ebay at times.

The enclosure may be robbed of everything and the parts sold on ebay, if the cabinet is not solid.

The badges, crossover parts and whatever may have a monetary value to someone.

It is worth checking out at least.

If you decide to check them out, please let us know and others will also give their best advice.

Good luck.

Hi again;

Well you did at least recognize a quality speaker and being used had a choice for a few seconds of buying or not, at least.

Dad's are important and you must abide by his decisions.

When you are older and working, you can better make your own financial decisions, but in the mean time, abide by dad's decisions.

Other opportunities will come along in time.

Good luck.
