Guest bubbas_buddy
Concerning the AR11's I spoke of before:I'm thing about restoring these speakers and am wondering how I could go about testing the drivers to see if they are good.As I said the speakers appear in good condition except the 12" woofer surrounds(foam) has disappeared.Any suggestions on procedure and timesaving tips are greatly appreciated. Also, If I remove the 12"woofers to get to the rear switches, what can I expect to find inside the speakers and how should I proceed cleaning or replacing same? Thanks, buddy
Guest
I have a pair of AR-11. When you remove the woofer, be prepared to find a large amount of acoustic wool. After removing the wool, you can find some capacitors, coils and resistors. You have to replace those capacitors as they are aging. I replaced mine with Solen caps and found that the sound is improved significantly.Simon
