Guest The WoodMitch Shop
Hi -- I am a newbie to this group and am refurbishing two pairs of second generation AR 2ax speakers. One pair was manufactured in fall of 1973, the second pair in spring of 1974. The older pair has the stamped steel basket/ALNICO slug magnet woofers, while the newer pair has the stamped steel basket/ceramic-ferrite magnets.I have removed and saved the old rock wook stuffing. I would like advice on the best stuffing material for these. Should I re-use the old rock wook or replace it, if so what is the recommended replacement stuffing and best source for it? Are there different recommendations for the two different types of woofers? Thanks -- Mitch
charger3834
AR-2ax's of that vintage are not stuffed with rock wool! They should have the yellow stuff. Put it back in and get the quantity right for the proper system Q. P.S. you have a good handle on your 2ax facts.
