Capacitor Installation - Inner vs Outer Layer

I think I read somewhere in this forum that non-polar polypropylene capacitors are usually marked to indicate which lead comes from the center layer of the capacitor and which lead comes from the outermost. I also recall seeing a recommendation regarding capacitor installation with the orientation of the capacitor perhaps having a discernible effect. I tried some searches, but I could not find what I sought.

I got some new Daytons from Parts Express. They came with one lead running straight out of the capacitor and the other bent double over the body. Is this to designate which lead is which?

Can anyone set me straight?

Thanks,

Very good quality caps are somehow marked to tell where the lead is attached to the center or outer. For example, North Creek Music sold their caps with different color insulation on each of the leads and recommending which lead should go in which direction for a certain effect on the sound. This was a minor effect noticeable only in very good speaker systems. I suggest you read the capacitor FAQ page at

www.northcreekmusic.com

I doubt it if the Daytons are in that league.

It's all about the music
