I think he has the right idea, get it to an AR-3a expert. Hopefully someone will appear from the forum that lives close by. The one thing I wouldn't do is bring it to a generic shop that works on everything and anything, that is how mismatched drivers get installed. If all else fails, he could pack them up and send them to someone that would be willing to look at them and fix them. But I would bring them to a professional place to have them packaged, the carrier should pay for it. I would risk sending them before I would let a local yokel without any AR-3a knowledge mess with them.
