Guest OldRelayer
This looks like a terrible job to me, is it just me or wouldn't you want to leave the cone as intact as possible.http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/dc/user_files/869.jpgThoughts? Guest tgw
As long as the cone is intact which it looks like it is, there should be no problem. The new foam surrounds should be firmly glued to both the cone as well as the basket (frame) and that appears to be true from what I can see in the picture. Guest OldRelayer
Ok I guess its me, I am more familar with the work that is done glueing the surround from the bottom of the surround and just a bead around the cone, that leaves the whole cone except for a small bead glueless. This is glued on the top and over laps by gawd almost 1 1/2 inches. I think I would rather buy speakers that need to be refoamed than buy ones that look like this.Othere thoughts, am I a minority of one.ThanksBarry
Guest Bret
Is that thick and tarry or just shiny? Bret
Guest OldRelayer
I don't know Bret, you see what I see, they are just a pair of speakers on Ebay. They give me an icky feeling, I think I will pass on them. They just look like a speaker that either the owner tried to work on them and royally screwed it up or when he had the work done either didn't know or care that they were not done right.
