w1jim Posted November 11, 2020 Report Share Posted November 11, 2020 For sale is my latest project - a restored pair of Acoustic Research AR90 speakers.All grills are included and are in excellent condition.In summary here's what's been done:Refoamed all 4-10" woofers.Refoamed the 2-8" lower midranges.I applied Mortite caulking to the mid and woofer to dampen the frames.Added a brace to the inside of the cabinet to deter front-rear vibration and resonance.Upgraded the tweeter and upper midrange capacitors with modern polyfilm components (I used Bennic, Dayton and AcuCap capacitors).Installed larger binding posts.Used Howards "Restor-A-Finish" and waxed the cabinets.The only flaw on these is that one has some marring on the top rear corner of the cabinet (see close up picture).Includes the original owners manual and paperwork.Price is $850These can be auditioned in my delightfully Covid free garage in Needham, MA I know I'm new here but I've been on AudioKarma and eBay forever.
