johnieo Posted March 24, 2005 Report Share Posted March 24, 2005 The attached jpg is what I believe to be the correct crossover for the AR-4x. One of my two units contained a smaller woofer coil (0.88 mH, AR-#4). Only one other Forum member found a similar problem (three with #4 and one with #5). Crossover calculations for this driver with a series inductor yielded 1,200 Hz for the #5 coil and 2,000 Hz for the #4 coil. I assume that the smaller coil was used in the AR-4, which had a 2,000 Hz crossover frequency and was an assembly error. The 0.65 cu. ft. cabinet with the correct coil contained 12 oz of Fiberglass--the same vol./wt. ratio as the AR-3a). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
