jam1n
I recently acquired a pair of AR-3a improved speakers. I'm planning to restore them as they've been quite neglected. I've read as much as I can find on the site, which has been incredibly helpful, but I still have a couple of questions. The butyl foam dots on the tweeters (type A. 20) are badly damaged on one speaker with one dot missing and the other two coming loose. The dots appear to have been replaced with glue on the other side. Is it possible to repair them or should I look to replace the tweeters? There is also some water damage to the cabinets with one corner in particular starting to split - but the cabinets seem to be air tight. Any advice about how best to deal with this would be very welcome. Thanks!
mike tarelli
Chris on this forum repairs tweeters like yours. I cannot recommend him highly enough. His contact is Chris1this1.
