  1. I have two mint condition KLH speakers I believe to be 8840's. Anyone have any knowledge of these speakers? UPDATE: Feb 16, 2024. I decided to peruse the KLH posts from the past. I got back to March, 2016, and lo and behold, there was a photo posted by eddeb of my exact speakers. He too had info to indicate the model number of the speakers is 8840. Unfortunately, he also could not find any info on the ancestry or nomenclature of this model. I also observed that the staff running this site are only interested in pre-1970's KLH's and are rather "snobby" to later model owners. If I may have the audacity to make a suggestion, perhaps staffers may wish to expand their horizons beyond pre 70's New England products. KLH seems to have had an interesting, if not tumultuous history post 70's and some of the speakers produced in that era are very respectable units. I have had my two KLH speakers' that I am now convinced are 8840's' since the mid 1980's. I can tell you that they are beautiful, rich, full bass, speakers that I have enjoyed nearly every day I have owned them. I have had them connected to 4 different receiver/amplifier units over the years. They now sound better than ever as front speakers in a 5.1 surround system supported by Klipsch center and surround speakers driven by a new Denon AVR. I have a large vinyl record collection and play them through the Denon to the KLH's alone in stereo. This is where these old boys really shine. I would still love to find the history of these very nice speakers. I couldn't thank eddeb for the pictures and info he posted in 2016, but if you are out there, thanks buddy for confirming the info I dug up.
