Ubeturass

I have a pair of AR-5 speakers that have been in storage for several years and now no longer work. Online sources suggest that the Potentiometers have become corroded and need to be cleaned or replaced. Even when they were new adjusting the pots has never made any difference in the sound. Now I'm thinking that I can bypass the pots altogethter. Is this possible?
