AR 11, 10pi grills and tweeter foam

As I mentioned in a previous post, I had some grills and foam tweeter rings made up for the 10pi's and 11's. I received the prototypes for the grill and they are almost perfect. I don't have a firm price from my foam guy yet, he can only give me a ballpark figure. With that figure I can estimate a selling price of $25-$35 for a pair of grills and a pair of tweeter rings . If enough interest is generated, I'll increase my initial order which will decrease the price a little.

I posted this last time this was brought up, but no one replied, so I guess I'll ask again...

Is this foam the same type of 1-piece molded open-cell foam as the 17 and 18? If so, I would be interested in getting some made for those models. $25 - $35 each is very reasonable and I would be in the market for two pair of 17's.

I could provide an original for measurement, so long as it is not destroyed.

Is the foam the same as what is used on the AR9 and 90's? If so, I would be interested also..Dale

Hello I would be willing to send in a set of AR 9 tweeter and mid foam rings for examples. It would be nice to get this started for all the forum members. we could use a sorce for them.

As far as the rings for the woofers, just strips would work. we could just form them around to fit the woofers. This would save on cost and waist. I would be interested in at least 10 sets of AR 9 foams and strips for woofers

If you send me the dimensions, I will see if I can have it made up.

Also need to know if it's recessed for the drivers.

That would be great! Email me at the link above and I can give you my address. I'm working on a woofer ring as well and I'll make sure to post an update when they are finished.

I'll get dimensions to you later today, probably. There is a recess in the grill for the woofer surround. It's a ring aproximately 3/4" deep and about 1 1/4" wide. (8.5" diameter)

Here's the pictures. The grill is a prototype from the foam company. It was a little to big but the adjustments have been made. The second picture is of a tweeter ring that I made. It's not perfect, but the one's I'm having made up should be. The tweeter rings I'm having made up will be the same color as the one pictured.

I'm also awaitling the outer rings for the 12" woofer and rings for the 8" woofer.
