Can anyone identify these speakers?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I picked up these nice looking vintage speakers. Im interested in the era when they were made. :)

The element maker is Sinus, I believe that these are the original elements. After some research I couldn´t find any matching results. I wish for some help.

Regards,

Martin

Hi, M2, and welcome to the forum.

I feel like I have seen this speaker before, but it is difficult to find information on Sinus models. Those are really gorgeous loudspeakers - - do they have just a single oval driver or are there two drivers inside? I believe Sinus drivers were used in small B&O speakers from the 60's, and in some cases, the same speaker might have been marketed under both a Sinus and a B&O label.

Welcome M2

Those are very cool looking! How doe they sound? I'm a sucker for real wood, and rosewood is almost impossible to come by. I'll bet Mid Century Modern fans would kill for those!

Google "sinus speakers" and you'll find some stuff.

Hi, they are single oval drivers. Unfortunately I haven´t found any detail info about these speakers yet. I´ll keep searching. Thank you!

Hi Kent! To be honest, im quite blown away how good the quality is... just amazing! Never thought that such old speakers could deliver such sound. They really do look cool, I picked them up for 5€ (5,3USD) I picked them up just for the looks and later on discovered that they might be quite old also, so I´m quite happy with the purchase :) Thanks!

Regards,

Martin

Just a little more info here. The link here shows your same driver in an entirely different cabinet configuration (with volume control), and the pic attached shows a similar Sinus driver, found in the Beomaster 900. Perhaps you can get further help from the forum on the beoworld website.
