leemelone
Is there an way to determine what year my OLAs were made? They're the utility cabinets with green fried egg tweeters and Masonite ring woofers. Is there an online database that identifies the year of manufacture based on the serial numbers? ra.ra
Don't your green tweeters have date stamps on them like this one? If not, check the backside of the drivers.

I don't really want to take the drivers out. I was hoping there was a way to date them by the serial numbers.
ra.ra
There might be, but I am unable to help there. My pic is of the same tweeter from the Smaller Advent speaker model, but maybe some OLA owners will chime in. Also, sometimes there are stamps on the backside of woofer magnets. lARrybody
Have you seen this post over at Audiokarma. I gives some clues about the original Large advent and the green tweeter. http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/identifying-your-advent-loudspeakers.126376/ Also this information on the three known crossover revisions for your speakers. http://baselaudiolab.com/ADVENT_LA_XO.html
Doug G.
Sorry I'm late to this thread. If you have original (large) Advents with green tweeters and you know them to be original to the speakers, they were made in 1975, September to December, to be more specific. EDIT: Oops, I should have put the date range at possibly July - December. Doug
