challenger1
I picked up a pair of what I thought were Snell JIII speakers. They needed surrounds and had them done locally. Upon further investigation after doing some measuring for stands I noticed that the speakers were only 23" tall. That's the height for the Snell JII. I have read in these pages that other users have had the same speaker with the same height. On my speakers the area behind the speaker that shows the model next to the binding post states that they are Snell JIII. Was the factory at that time during maybe model changes known for mislabeling some units? I do know the measurements of both speakers after using the Snell archives for reference. That would have been quite a mistake for the factory to make, being that the difference is 7" in cabinet height.
nesdam
Your speakers are definitely JIII so they are not mislabeled. Its the measurements in the Snell archives that are wrong
