First post and my new AR-3a's

Hi everyone....after years of lurking, I'm finally joining the forum. Absolutely love reading all of the posts from the gurus here.

I traded my old 3a's about 8 years ago for some Meridian m-10's which I still have and am happy with, but I've missed my old 3a's ever since. Finally broke down and bought a beautiful pair...They arrived yesterday and I've been in pure bliss since. The modded Dynaco 70 is powering them!

Will be getting proper logo plates as soon as my wallet recovers.  In addition to the Meridian M-10's mentioned above, I've got Martin Logan Motion 40's, some 2-ax's, 4x's, my prized mint KLH Twelves, Dynaco a-25's, Bang and Olufsen s80.2 and a couple sets of KLH sixes. I've got a major problem and not enough space...

Great!   I bet its like getting together with an old girlfriend.

Nice collection, and no, there is nothing wrong with you.  Unless there is something wrong with the most of us here too.

Our houses are just too small.

What tap are you using on the ST70?

All of the gear on the rack from top to bottom - Dynaco ST-70, Marantz 2240 (About to rotate that one to another system), McIntosh C-27 preamp, McIntosh 2505 amp and the Pioneer 707.  The turntables are a Basis 1400 with a Benz Micro Ace and a Thorens 125/SME combo.

I love my Twelves - Seriously in beautiful condition.  They sound great and were my main speakers for a couple of years.  I've been using them less over the last couple of years since I bought my Martin Logans.  I find them to be very flat compared to the 3a's.  Definitely kinda harsh in the mids, and the low end isn't as good as you would hope with those big cabinets.  They work well for instrumental music, but don't come close to the 3a's in reproducing voices - I'm still stunned by how the 3a's treat vocals.    I'll be getting the Twelves set up in my bedroom this weekend.  Excited to listen to them again...Will report back on how they are sounding.

I'm using the 4-ohm tap on the dynaco.  Got an old quad of Mullards in the Dynaco.. :)
