owlsplace
There was at least one post on this forum about AR-3 woofer failure due to weak spiders allowing the voice coils to bottom out. I did manage to lunch an AR-5 woofer in 1974 using sub-standard source material and high output levels.I'm with SteveF on this one, I don't have any desire to subject classic-period AR's to the rigors of home theatre these days. I might use ADS's though Roger
donquixote99
Get some JBLs for HT.
bjmsam
Two pairs of AR-3a driven by an Adcom GFA-2535 served as the front channels of my HT until I replaced them with a pair of AR-9 driven by an Adcom GFA-585. Both configurations are extremely effective (in my case employing phantom center and no sub).
