3a's with pine cabinets

The classic era ARs were available in unfinished pine. These were originally lower-cost units intended for people planning on slipping them into consoles or using them in places where they'd be painted. Because not all that many were sold, they are today something of a rarer collector's item and can draw higher prices, but only if they are still in their original, unfinished condition, These have been stained walnut color, which makes them probably worth a bit less than actual walnut versions of the same speaker.

Maybe the buyer didn't notice the $150 shipping charge :-)

Not unreasonable for those heavy beasts. Would be a good opportunity for someone near the seller in MA--free local pickup. Wish I were closer.

But this is odd: 1st time for sale on ebay it was a different seller. What's up with that?

The guy (from Craigslist in my first post) emailed me yesterday and said they're still available.

Not sure how that can be possible since they sold on ebay twice now.

I emailed him back and asked if they're the same 3a's that sold on ebay twice.

Curious to see what his reply will be.

AR 3a

and again just yesterday:

Thanks,

John

How can you sell them to me if they sold on ebay yesterday?

John
