fordf250
I have a simple question: electrolytic capacitors are polarized, having a negative and positive connection, as I understand it. The archive schematic,, for the AR9 crossovers, do not show any polarity, as to how they are connected in the circuits---does it make a difference? Do not use regular electrolytics. You can replace the caps with film caps or with NPEs (non-polar electrolytics). Most restorers opt for NPEs for larger values (over 20 or 30 uF because they are smaller and cheaper than poly or mylar caps.A lot has been written here on recapping the AR9. Do a search on AR9 crossover and you'll find a lot of threads. The 2500uF caps are a big issue. fordf250
Hi Kent, thanks for the information, and the welcoming to the forum-as you can see, I have had no experience with non polar cans--guess my entire electrical life has been spent in double section L power supplies!
