Hello, brand new member who's found a pair of AR's on the local market. The sign says AR UKO78707, anyone that can tell me a little about this little fella'?

Hello,

Based on the design, I'd guess that you have found a pair of AR-18LS (if the height = 419mm) or AR-28LS (heigh = 508mm). If you remove the front grille (it should 'pop' off), you may find that the model designation is shown. The image below shows the AR-18LS:

If there is no indication of model, it is possible that they are part of the UK 'exclusive to Laskys' range. I believe, for example, that when the AR-94 was discontinued, it was still sold by Laskys during the late eighties, and referred to simply as the AR-Classic, or AR-UK1 (see image below).

If your speakers are AR-18LS, then they are very similar to the AR-18, -18s, and -18B; excellent 'bookshelf' units (and still sought after for use as near-field studio monitors by those who find the Yamaha NS-10 a tad too bright). Nice find!
