KLH Model Fifty Two Receiver

Clean and complete

I know book on it isn't a lot of money, but that's not why I'm interested.

Made In Japan

How does it sound? Worth bringing home if I can pick it up for $10 or less?

Buying "as is" from a thrift (I don't return things to my favorite thrift).

I've made out so well, the occasional "dud" is more than offset. I won't hear it until it's home (assuming it's functional).

I'm mainly concerned with sonics.

Thanks,

Craig

Hi Craig

The 50 series KLH receivers were not bad--typical '70s Japanese stuff. They are not worth much on the 2nd hand market, but for ten bux--worst case is you've made a donation to your fave thrift shop. Seriously, the 50 series receivers are fine for small systems in offices, dorm rooms, etc. I have a 55/A for sale on consignment in the local electronics shop. Not expecting to get much. A 51 recently sold on ebay for 11.50. If you have the room and could use a secondary system--why not?

I don't know if the 52 was part of a "system" or if it will handle 4 ohm speakers. If it will, you might try it with your 20s.

Good luck!

Kent
