Guest Alwayswantmore
Hi all,I am the original owner of a pair of KA-1s. I worked my way through college selling high-end audio part time and summers, and bought mine on Cizek's reseller discount program. My best recollection is that I paid about $400, and that retail was around $800. I have the original box and emblems. Here is a link to pictures... http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=159822If anyone can answer the following questions, I would appreciative a reply to this post: Any recommendations for replacing the tweeters, and has anyone had experience getting the woofers re-coned (not re-foamed, but the actual paper cone)? [i would love to hang on to these for another couple of decades, so now might be a good time for a tune-up!]On a side note: A few years after buying these I mailed a check to Cizek to buy another set of speakers. This was about the time he passed away. I never got my speakers, and lost about $700 (as best I recall). Now I am under strict orders from my wife to always use a credit card when purchasing audio equipment http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/dc/user_files/954.jpg
