How much poly-fill should you stuff in their cabinets to get effective damping? I noticed when I compare the sound of the EPI 100's to my Cambridge M80 speakers ,the M80's have a much more open sound, especially in the treble.My EPI's sound muted almost by comparison.Their tweeters work fine but in comparison to the newer speakers they just sound dull!What's going on here?If someone would elaborate on this issue it would help a lot. I was thinking about purchasing new tweeters to match the clarity of the Cambridge M80 speakers.My EPI 100's have level controls on the back,they work well also. thiptoman Posted March 14, 2002 Author Report Share Posted March 14, 2002 My fault here,after much observations and comparions with the newer Cambridge M80 speakers, I found that my tweeter level controls are about to go out on the EPI speakers. After having the problem repaired I've found that both speakers to be almost simliar in sound quality.The Cambridge m80's can play louder with less strain and more detail still but the EPI's play deeper and more coherent!Not bad for a twenty year old speaker compaired to one of the best modern designs available,regardless of price!
