Guest daveydad
Just found out my 20 year-old CD 7s need new woofers but now find the Allison to apparently be no more and emails bounce. Any idea where I could get these? Are they worth replacing? Thanks.

If your woofers only have foam rot, I could take care of that for you for $80 including return shipping if you remove and send them to me. It's worth doing if your cabinets are walnut veneered and you like the way they sound. If, instead, your woofers are indeed DEAD, then you may have to reconsider saving them unless you can locate a suitable replacement or original, refoamed pair. It's all about the musicCarlCarl's Custom Loudspeakers
JKent
What do you mean dead? If it's the pernicious foam rot, you may want to buy a kit and refoam them. It takes patience and a steady hand, but it can be done. Here is a link (below)showing what's involved and giving excellent step-by-step instructions(btw--I was very pleased with MSound). Make sure the outfit you buy the kit from includes shims and dust caps (I bought a kit from SimplySpeakers for my Allison: Four that was incomplete in that respect). If this is too daunting, you may want to take Carl up on his offer, or check out some of the other reputable services endorsed by members here, such as Millersound or Minh Luong.Good luckKenthttp://www.citlink.net/~msound/refoam/
