Guest
How can I find out which Advent loudspeaker model I have and its date of manufacture? I'm pretty sure they're "Large Advents", but they have beveled fronts, walnut exterior, and a high frequency level switch on the rear. After a DIY refoam a couple years ago they're still sounding great. Also, I'm using Baby Advent II's for my rear surrounds. Where can I find information on those? Both speaker sets were garage sale gems.
Guest
You have a pair of "The Large Advent" loudspeakers. I have read here somewhere that the beveled molding is the early, and original model. A date for the tweeters at least, can be found printed in black ink on the front of each tweeter. Usually on the metal panel, upper right corner near a red x or red slash. I dont' know if the date is the manufacturing date of the tweeter, or the date the tweeter was inspected, installed, etc. It's the best date you can get though - I've had no luck requesting serial # dating from Advent, or what passes for Advent.
