Guest special rider Posted June 28, 2007 Report Share Posted June 28, 2007 I am working on my AR11 restoration- Woofers are being re-foamed & the mids sound great.The tweeters in both cabinets seem to have a very diminished output and it sounds "shaggy" or "hissy"- Any thoughts?Could this be the result of needing replacement capicitors?, if so any suggested models/brands?Keep on Trucking ! I hope you are keeping in mind that tweeters are intended to reproduce high frequencies - like "hisses". I suggest that you wait until you can hear the complete system reproduce music before being alarmed.As for the caps, any electrolytic caps over a decade old may have 'wandered', but 'hissy' isn't a likely symptom.Just be patient, guy, and wait 'til the woofers get back.Regards,Bob Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
