rrcrain
Someone on Ebay who doesn't know any better is in the process of parting out a pair of LST II speakers and plans to dispose of the cabinets, and then do the same to his second pair.http://cgi.ebay.com/AR-Acoustic-Research-L...1QQcmdZViewItem

rrcrain
Here's his private response to me, and I quote. You are absolutely incorrect. They have never ever sold for $1,500 a pair used. Kindergartners on forums are full of more crap than I am after an all-night pig roast. The last pair on ebay with all working tweeters, woofers and perfect grilles, with very good wood went for $425. Oh boy wow. I got about $500 for tweeters and midrange speakers from the pairs and now I am working on the grilles and the rest of the trash from these old soon to be dumpstered trash speakers. rrcrain
Some fast research uncovers these speakers aren't being sold by an individual, they are being sold by an Ebay reselling company. Their web page address ishttp://www.teamresell.com/site1/and their phone number is414-425-9026I suggest someone who's not at work, or who can make the call do so. ar_pro
This character seems to be exactly the type to avoid on eBay.From his wise-ass attitude, can you imagine how helpful he'd be if there was a problem with his merchandise?
dynaco_dan
Hi there; When I saw that ad, I looked at the questions from prospective buyers. One was from Larry, I assumed, vintage-ar.I wrote Larry a brief note about the attitude towards him and others, I will not use the term here, and especially with such a large number of transactions by the seller. My mouth fell open when I read the reply to Larry's question. With that kind of attitude, I would imagine a buying experience would be about the same if something was not right upon arrival.Ebay said they were blocking my note to Larry because I have not done recent business with him.I was only trying to show my support to Larry for his very reasonable question. Also, the cabinet into a dumpster, leaves a bad taste.Disrespectful of an antiquity.Leaving them by the curbside would have been more acceptable comment. JKent
ar pro is certainly right. This guy is not a hifi specialist, but his rude comments and horrible attitude certainly mark him as someone to stay FAR away from. He really seems to ENJOY telling AR lovers that he'll chop them up and throw away the cabinets.I just wonder how he got all that positive feedback. Too bad those nice speakers can't be rescued from such a horrible excuse for a human being, but guess we all have to just suck it up, boycott him, and grit our teeth knowing the cabinets are destined for the dumpster. If you leave negative comments, then negative will be left for you.I am amazed at all of his transactions and ebay still allows this type of disrespectful behaviour.Too bad>those nice speakers can't be rescued from such a horrible>excuse for a human being, but guess we all have to just suck>it up, boycott him, and grit our teeth knowing the cabinets>are destined for the dumpster.Boycott we will and also find out where there is dumpsters near his place of business. lol lol>>I just returned after seeing that they are no longer for sale. The last writer's questions were for the entire cabinets and parts. rrcrain
I agree, he and his company are to be boycotted. I sent him an email asking what he would want for the speakers as is, and me paying for the shipping. He chose not to respond.I'm thinking this was a spite sale designed to hurt someone close to him.
