Norman Nicolai
I have a chance to purchase a set of Spendor LS3/5A speakers from a seller in northern NJ. I once listened to the Rogers version of the BBC studio standard LS3/5A's last year and I was blown away by how good they sounded for a small speaker. I'm going to get a chance to hear the Splendors Wednesday night. Anyone have an opinion on the LS3/5A's in general, and the Spendor version in particular? The seller claims that this Spendor version is rated at 15 ohms, like the Rogers. I need small speakers in the Living Room of my house due to WAF. I am currently using a set of Paradigm Atoms paired to a restored vintage Fisher 500C receiver in that room and the plan is to use the Spendors to replace the Atoms. Anyone have a considered opinion on LS3/5A speakers, the Spendor version, and their comparison to the Paradigm Atoms? How about a half-assed opinion? Thanks.
