jonwb
Wow those are really nice! I'm still waiting for some dye stain (suggested by Genek) to be delivered. I have some uneven sanded areas that need to be addressed before applying a final finish. I'll keep Watco finishes in mind. Also plan to repair some damaged edges with a Mohawk walnut epoxy stick (suggested by lakecat). Busy week ahead 👍
jonwb
Cabinets complete... They came out a little darker than anticipated. I probably should've used a lighter dye stain. It did however even out the color. I used two coats of Watco natural. I had some "shine" areas so I used 95% alcohol to deburnish those out. Worked well. I have two original tweeters being rebuilt by Chris over at AK. I should get those back within the month. The grille covers came completely destroyed so that's my next project. Again, thanks to all who responded with advice and pictures.
Mr. Weather
They look great. Did you do any sanding or similar between or after applying the finishes?
jonwb
Thanks, and yes sanded with 800 after the dye stain, but no sanding using the Watco. Probably where I went wrong and accumulated some shine areas.
