The Dual-Dome midrange and tweeter have the 1-1/2-inch midrange and the 3/4-inch tweeter close together such that vertical dispersion is greatly improved (these drivers try to act more like a "point source" than separately mounted drivers). The AR-58 (US version, at least) had a 4-inch midrange cone driver and the 3/4-inch dome tweeter.UK means, of course, that the speaker was manufactured in AR's British manufacturing plant (High Street, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, England) and the serial number would be 847.--Tom Tyson
Guest flambart
Tom,thank you very much for your attention.Yes, my AR-58 have a cone 4" midrange, and a dome 3/4" tweeter. These two speakers are mounted on a separate plastic baffle: the front panel is totally wooden.Instead, the grill structure (the 'skeleton') is plastic.Sound is good (but not so 'AR', at my opinion), even if a little too bright about mid-high frequencies (no attenuator available).Have you any other information about ?Thank you a lot againCiao, Paolo
