Price On My Stereo Setup

At the moment, I have a stereo system in my room. It has a "Realistic STA-740" receiver that works perfectly. Attached to the speaker "A" output are 2 x "Teledyne Acoustic Research AR28s" that have amazing sound considering I found them in the attic last year. Attached to the speaker "B" output are 2 x "Panasonic Thruster SB-300C". Does anyone have any experience and/or parameters and/or suggestions about all these three parts? Thanks.

The AR-28's were a high-quality 2-way speaker from the mid-80's that delivered absolutely respectable sound from a reasonably-sized enclosure. That series of AR speakers went through a number of iterations--S, B, Bx, Bxi--but they were all fairly good.

The Panasonic Thrusters are something of legend, but for all the wrong reasons. The "Thrusters" came out in 1979 as the speakers that came with their higher end compact stereo systems, but they were nothing more than a full-range speaker (complete with whizzer cone) in a thin-walled enclosure with a passive radiator.

Panasonic made a big deal out of them however, with an aggressive advertising campaign that extolled the "extra thrust of bass" provided by these speakers. Catchy name, and Panasonic marketing muscle gave these speakers their Urban Legend fame, however.

In reality, bad-sounding, low-fi speakers. Throw them away.
