tysontom
eBay item, 5790270254, with the description, "Vintage AR3 speakers Stands Acoustic Research AR-3," is not to my knowledge a true AR product. When you go to eBay, plug in this item number in the search box. It appears to be a hand-made stand that was made by a woodworker-audiophile perhaps for a pair of AR-3s, but I do not think these are anything made by AR. The seller is insistent that they are authentic AR products made for the AR-3, but "buyer beware." These stands also don't appear to put the AR speakers up off the floor more than a couple of inches, and the result would be very boomy bass. Stands should be a minimum of one foot for best results. If anyone knows anything contrary to this, please advise forum members.--Tom Tyson
dynaco_dan
Hi TomI also left my 2 cents worth on the ebay site as well as 2 others.I have an early set of the walnut cross configuration at about 12" high.Even if the seller said, "made to fit AR3's" it would be easier to swallow. Thanks for the warning to fellow readers, Tom.Have a great day.Vern >eBay item, 5790270254, with the description, "Vintage AR3>speakers Stands Acoustic Research AR-3," is not to my>knowledge a true AR product.
