Guest radkrisdoc
Hi everyone!I have been a silent reader this far, reason being that Im still working on my AR speaker enclosures, just trying not to rush, instead of working on all the details. Anyways, I am breaking my silence because I want to know in which speaker systems the 10" woofer 1210074-2A was used. The item's on ebay, no other info (impedance etc) has been provided. And only two of them there, would like to know if these would be of any use in an AR-90 speaker system. Thanking you all who reply in advance, Kris

ar_pro
Those are definitely not AR90 woofers. Here's another pair on ebay that do look authentic - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=5778111895

Thanking>you all who reply in advance, KrisThe 1210074-2 10-inch woofer was used on the TSW-310, TSW-310B, TSW-510, TSW-510B and the TSW-810. It would not be compatible with the AR-90 other than fitting the hole. The 40C and 40T used the 1210074-0. Both of these woofers were 8-ohms, but had different characteristics.--Tom Tyson

They are actually not compatible for use with the AR-2, AR-2ax and AR-5, as the seller states. This is typical of misinformation on eBay. Sellers make generalized assumptions without real knowledge or accountability, since something appears to look similar to the correct item.--Tom Tyson

I am not sure the discrepancy is on the 1210074-2 and 74-0. You are right in that the June 1, 1992 lists the 1210074-2 as the 40C and 40T woofer (at $82.10 list), but the February 1, 1988 list shows the 1210074-0 the correct woofer for the 40C and 40T, listing at $72.20 and the 1210074-2 was shown for the TSW series at $69.95 that year. Probably what happened is that the 1210074-0 was dropped in favor of using the same woofer for both models.--Tom Tyson
Guest radkrisdoc
Thank you all for helping me! I saw the 200031's (ar_pro's link), am wondering how much the total cost would be to buy these, adding refoaming and shipping charges.....anyone has experience with that? I want to calculate the total cost so I can compare with the cost of buying new from AB Tech, who quote each woofer around $86.I also called AB Tech and they said the replacement woofer for the AR-90 has a different number, ending with 33 (probably 1210033, am not sure). Mr. Tyson and Jim, thank you for the detailed info, I appreciate it very much.I will post an update with pics on my refinishing project soon.
