soundminded
In a fascinating program about the history of Queens New York being aired on PBS (channel 13 NY), there is a guided tour of Louis Armstrong's home in Corona Queens just as he lived in it. It's a museum now. And his stereo system which was described as state of the art for the 1970s consisted of 2 Tandberg tape decks, a Dual turntable, Marantz 7C preamp, Marantz 10B tuner, presumably Marantz amplifiers and mounted in the ceiling ....AR3a. The narrator pointed out at the beginning of the tour that by the time he bought that house, he was very wealthy, world famous, and could have lived anywhere and owned anything he wanted to including a trumpet shaped swimming pool if it had fancied it.
