Aadams
Has anyone solved this problem on how to reinforce a cracked tweeter flange. Iso had this problem in 2014 (see yellow highlights below) but the thread died. I seem to recall seeing another thread with images about this topic but manual and google searches do not yield a result. Can anyone here point me to the thread or have a convenient solution to a cracked tweeter flange? Edit: This could be done with 3d printing. Has anyone ventured into additive manufacturing of AR spare parts? Adams

ra.ra
I think I remember a thread where someone fashioned a circular plate from an unused or damaged compact disk, and it was all cut using a hot knife. Can't recall if it was a cover plate or a full replacement. Using broken piece, any chance of a patch repair with epoxy and some type of reinforcement from backside? JKent
I bought a product in the local auto parts store called "Q-Bond" It's a kit with cyanoacrylate (super glue) and 2 containers of powder: Black and gray. I found it works well. The repair won't be invisible but it can be filed down so it looks OK--sort of like a weld. Lots of videos available: https://www.google.com/search?q=Q+BOND+ULTRA+STRONG+ADHESIVE+GLUE+%26+FILLING+POWDER&client=safari&rls=en&source=lnms&tbm=vid&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiU2pTGptrgAhUineAKHWLdC8cQ_AUIDygC&biw=1153&bih=1091&dpr=2 -Kent

lARrybody
I recently super glued a broken flange on a AR48S tweeter. I have a non working unit that I could swap flanges with.
genek
Is it your intention to be taking that tweeter out a lot? If not, you could just screw it in and cram caulk into any gaps.

I plan to use a 3" hole saw on a CD to cut a backing ring which will be glued and drilled to pass the screws. Hope to use only foam gasket. We shall see. Aadams
I should close the loop on this. I sent the tweeters for rebuild and in the process the flange was repaired by Chris1. On return I decided the strength of the mend was sufficient to mount without the CD flange. CDs also make perfect gasket templates for the tweeter holes. To make a plate or ring you need a 3.5 inch hole saw. I got lucky this time but the info is here if someone needs it in the future and the thread is sufficiently tagged. Don't need a hole saw....just heat a utility knife and it cuts it like butter. Was surprised to find the CD is exact hole size for tweeter. If you locate your thread and link it here, or edit the tags so it can easily be found in a search, it will no doubt be of help in the future. Hot knife would work and is probably simpler but the OCD, overkill, way is a hole saw.
lakecat
It is listed under Heathkit AS-103 from January 2016. Tried to link it but couldn't get it to work. Pics are gone also...so not much help.
Aadams
Here is the link. Info is about halfway down the page. NO wonder it couldn't be found easily. Thread creep strikes again but at least we have the info recorded.
