  1. Okay, thanks a lot! Looks like the QR1 is the way to go then.
  2. Hi, I know i'm not the first one having a problem about 2ax sounding "muddy" or "muffled" but i'm wondering what would be the best option about replacing the original tweeters? So far I have already changed the caps, refoamed the woofers and changed the pots, thanks jkent. I also tested the tweeters connecting one tweeter straight to the amp and there was sound but it was really quiet. The tweeter rebuild service is in USA and also Vintage Ar replacement tweeters are there and i'm living in Finland so I think it would be too expensive with all the shipping costs and taxes. How about that HiVi Q1R Dome tweeter, some people have used it I think? It would be at least a lot cheaper option, does it need any changes to the frame or any changes to the crossover? Heres couple of photos:

  5. Hi all! I know it's not the first time someone is asking about recapping 10pi speakers but because it's not that simple job to do so I wanted to start a new topic. There is few photos of my beautiful speakers and I have couple of questions, first of all do I even need to recap my speakers? I have read the old topics about this issue and someone mentioned that if you have those early models with Sprague compulytic caps you don't nececcary have to change them? I think I have early model. By the way I'm from Finland and I bought these speakers from one classic audio shop and these speakers are in really good shape, woofers have been reconed and the seller said that the caps have been checked but I doubt that because there is the original glue in caps and it's quite a big job to take them out just for testing. And I also wanted to ask about that woofer casket, I have this casket tape that is thicker than the original but not as wide but should I change it? Thank you! Antti
