  1. Looking for 2 Eico speaker badges. Could use any eico badges.
  2. I have recently recapped and installed the new Pots from JKent on my 2ax and the tweeter is still very weak. My next move is replacing the tweeter with the HIVI QR1 than many here speak well about. I have seen some discrepancy on the size of the parralell coil required for this option. Since I just replaced the 4UF cap with a new 4UF cap should I use a .05mh or a .07mh coil? or is replacing the cap with a .03 necessary with the HIVI QR1? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  3. Thanks, for posting. Were you able to find something similar? I see quite a few options out there, but many look like they may be to dense.
  4. I have a pair of AR 2AX and there is thin clear film on the badges. Wondering if this can be removed and discarded. Or will I peel off the lettering? Photos may help
  5. Thanks, I would like to learn how to recap and this is the pair I am going to start with. I found these caps at PE there is a 4mfd and (2) 3.0mfd for the mid. Does anyone see a problem with these particular caps? https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-PMPC-3.0-3.0uF-250V-Precision-Audio-Capacitor-027-220 https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-PMPC-4.0-4.0uF-250V-Precision-Audio-Capacitor-027-226 I also found this Solen at Madisound which would eliminate the need to tie them together. Would this also work? Solen PB 6 mfd Metalized Polypropylene Fast Capacitor 400V
  6. I recently purchased this pair of AR2ax for $23 at an estate sale and would like to restore them. The cabinets are in nice shape, so I think it will be well worth it. This is my first set of AR's. I have looked through the AR3 restoration guide and found plenty of useful info there. I performed a low level sound test with the speakers on their back and was able to get sound from all of the drivers but one of the super tweeters. Not sure if it is the driver or the pot at this point since all of the pots need serious cleaning or possibly replacement. The woofers need to be re-foamed and I have seen various opinions on the type of surround that I should purchase. Either filleted or standard role. I would appreciate any suggestions if anyone has any experience re-foaming with this particular woofer version. I appreciate any input and advice on these. Thanks!
