  1. Very interesting. Thanks for the replies. They don’t sound half bad! They’ll make nice shop speakers. Thanks again.
  2. Just found these today at the flea market. At first glance they appear to be 2axs, but on closer examination they are a little puzzling. One grill is nailed in while the second one has the nails removed. I thought maybe one had replacement drivers, but the second pair has identical components. I removed the tweeter (upper left) and it is hand labeled “Phase tech pc60). They have plastic push-button binding posts in the back. Additionally, I cannot find any 2axs with the teledyne-era badges. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I think it is safe to say that the 103 does have a different displacement between mounting points for the pots. It's only about a mm or two too short for these to work, unmodified. I'll measure the distance later today and report back. Thanks for the help, friends.
  4. Thanks for the response! Here’s a picture to illustrate the difference between old and new.
  5. Hey guys, I've got a set of as-103as that I have been slowly repairing over time. I just received the replacement pots found on ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/AR-3-AR-3a-AR-2-AR-2ax-AR-4-AR-4x-AR-5-AR-6-wirewound-potentiometer-pot/163074984077?hash=item25f806c88d:g:mF0AAOSw4eJbEGaU). There is a major problem, though, which is that these "improved" pots are much larger in diameter than the originals. They will not fit in the holes provided on the metal back plate. The pots touch together and are too wide.. Any ideas? Should I drill out the hole? Get different replacement pots? What would you do?
