  1. KLH Model 8

Hi, JKent's. I am Marbo from Hong Kong. I have KLH Model 8 too and I like your aux adapters invention.

I could like to order on from you. Could you like to ship it to Hong Kong? How much of it? How could I pay for it? thanks

    Regards

      Hi Marbo

Yes, I can ship to Hong Kong. The adaptor pictured would be $40 USD. Shipping via USPS First Class Package International is $19 USD. Payment may be made via PayPal.

Please email me: jkent@ptd.net to further this conversation.

      Thank you

      Kent

I have owned a pair of KLH model 2 speakers with a bass analog computer for almost 40 years. I used them in my family room with my McIntosh stereo equipment until this year. We just renovated our house and finally gave in to a speaker system throughout the house. Now, I have no need for these speakers so I was looking to see if they still had value. They are in great shape and have been much loved (I even have the original paperwork!). I noted that you wished to snag a pair and thought that it might be fun to see if you still had an interest. I am in Atlanta, so obviously shipping would be a big deal because these are in the original walnut cabinets. I just wanted to start with you because it seemed sort of like good karma.

Sorry. I honestly have no clue about price. Problem is size. Many people want small speakers. Another problem you'll face is these aren't classic KLH acoustic suspension speakers. KLH was sold to Singer in the '60s, then Kyocera in the '70s. At some later time it was sold to Electro Audio Dynamics (in the '80s?). The Analog Bass Computer speakers were ported designs, so although the company was in Westwood, MA at the time, many would not consider these "New England" style speakers.

      btw, here's some info http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/library/klh/klh-1_series_klh-1_klh-2_kl/

You could try the For Sale section here on CSP or AudioKarma. Maybe Audiogon. There's always ebay but shipping can be such a pain and if you do "Pickup only" it reduces the field of potential customers.

They're uncommon so it's hard to compare prices. I just checked ebay and one pair in "superb mint condition" went recently for $194. A comment I read in one forum said they usually go for "peanuts." Too bad--they're nice speakers. You just need to find the right buyer.

Thank you for thinking of me but I need to downsize a bit and already have too many speakers. Good luck finding a good home for them.
