Steve the original AR 18 used a 8 in woofer paper cone and tweeters similar to other models AR 94 and 93 the 18b that I have in my living room setup uses a 6.5 polypropylene woofer and tweeters

Hi I bought a powered subwoofer from Parts Express for 80.00 to pair with my AR 18s for my living room system it works great we have a townhouse so I can't play it loud but nice match with Bookshelf Speakers

Hi have a 8 in AR powered subwoofer that I bought on ebay doa. So I tried to fix it but it was easier to buy a new one from parts express which I should of done first i was trying to get a AR sub to match my AR 18b speakers

Interesting article I wonder if Roy Allison had any influence on Vertical Series Acoustic Research released I remember listening to a pair of AR3a my best friend had when they were working (before the internet)the sound stage definitely sounded better with them on the stands. Same when I helped my nephew set up his Braun /ADS 810s
