  1. From the Allison Yahoo group: We have a tech outside Boston who has successfully restored tweeters whose only fault was their wiring. The cost if he is successful is $35 ea + return s/h. To get them to him, pack them v v v v carefully (cardboard cutout collars, lots bubblewrap etc) and pack and ship to Mark Chambers 141 River Rd Pepperell MA 01463-1625
  2. Bill, Going to have to disagree with you. There was a discussion in the Allison Group that Allison did in fact make speakers for auto sound. Check the link and look at the first picture. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Original-Allison-Acoustics-2-WAY-CONVEX-DIAPHRAGM-TWEETER-ACD-2-NOS/173020890011 Brian
  3. There's a pair of F-1s on eBay as I write this that look in good shape. Seller is asking $299 I believe. (I am not the seller nor have any relationship to the seller)
  4. There is a speaker identified as a Rectilinear s38 on NY CL. At least that is what is on the card stapled to the back of the speakers. It looks authentic. Anybody know or have an opinion about these speakers?
  5. Try the Allison group on Yahoo. They do post schematics. Not sure if they have RDL.
  6. Robert: Try the following: https://cmtechsupport.com/products/ http://www.abtechservices.com/ They may be able to assist you. Brian
  7. I know this a little late to the party but here's a link to a website that has replacement parts for AR and Advent, including tweeters. https://cmtechsupport.com/products/ Brian

    Avid Model 103

    SR review of the Avid 103 from 1974: https://www.americanradiohistory.com/hd2/IDX-Audio/Archive-Stereo-Review-IDX/IDX/70s/HiFi-Stereo-Review-1974-04-OCR-Page-0036.pdf#search="avid 103%22 https://www.americanradiohistory.com/hd2/IDX-Audio/Archive-Stereo-Review-IDX/IDX/70s/HiFi-Stereo-Review-1974-04-OCR-Page-0040.pdf#search="avid 103%22

    Avid Model 110

Picking up on this old thread because I've been researching the Avid 110, as I found a pair on CL. SR reviewed these speakers in 1980: https://www.americanradiohistory.com/hd2/IDX-Audio/Archive-Stereo-Review-IDX/IDX/80s/HiFI-Stereo-Review-1980-12-OCR-Page-0036.pdf#search="avid 110%22 https://www.americanradiohistory.com/hd2/IDX-Audio/Archive-Stereo-Review-IDX/IDX/80s/HiFI-Stereo-Review-1980-12-OCR-Page-0038.pdf#search="avid 110%22 The review is two pages. Each link is a separate page of the review. Brian

  12. In Search on Epicure 14 loudspeakers to do research on a pair I saw at an electronics repair shop, I found the following website: http://epicureloudspeakers.com/ My understanding in reading about Epicure is that Harman owns them. The website copy states that they are part of a large audio company but does not mention Harman. Although to me they appear similar to modern infinities in terms of the driver arrangement on the front baffle. I haven't seen any reviews on these Epicure models. Anyone have any information other than what's on the website? Brian

    Allison Today

I bought two pairs for my kids years ago. They sound rather good and do well with a subwoofer. My daughter uses them as her main speakers with a sub. I believe my son has his set up in his bedroom. Brian
  14. The tweeter for a one, two or three will not work well in a four. The four is a two-way speaker, the others are three ways. The tweeters will not go low enough for a two-way. Now, a four tweeter will work in a one, two or three. Brian
